01

Start with the policy and claim number

Record the insurer, policyholder, claim number, adjuster’s contact information, and the date the claim was opened. Review the policy and ask the insurer which coverage and deductible it is applying; coverage depends on the actual policy and state rules.

02

Log each exchange

For each call or message, note the date, person, questions asked, documents requested, and any next step promised. Keep copies of letters and portal uploads, including confirmation that a file was received.

03

Ask for decisions in writing

If a payment, repair estimate, or coverage decision is unclear, ask the adjuster for a written explanation and the policy provision being used. Record your questions without assuming a general guide decides your claim.

04

Separate vehicle and injury records

Keep repair and rental documents separate from treatment records, bills, and time away from work. This makes it easier to see what information each decision addresses.

05

Escalate unresolved questions

If you cannot resolve a claim-handling disagreement with the insurer, your state insurance department can explain its consumer complaint process. A local lawyer can assess legal questions and any proposed release.

Sources and verification

Our mission and philosophy

A clearer path to accurate injury-law information.

Our mission is to make public information about personal injury law firms easier to find, understand, and verify. We organize factual directory records, practical legal education, and links to official sources so people can begin their research with greater clarity.

Our philosophy is accuracy before promotion, clarity before complexity, and corrections whenever reliable evidence shows that a listing has changed. Directory inclusion is informational and is never presented as a legal recommendation.
