Build a firm research record

Use the same four checks for every firm on your shortlist. Keep your notes private, and confirm time-sensitive facts directly with the firm and the appropriate licensing authority.

  1. 01

    Record what the directory says

For each Injury Law Firm you consider, note its name, city, phone number, website, and the date you viewed its public information. Firm information is a lead for research, not proof of current services or credentials.

    Fields to capture

    • Firm and city
    • Firm page URL and date checked
    • Contact details you confirmed directly
  2. 02

Identify the lawyer who would handle the matter

Ask for the name of the attorney who would be responsible for your case. Check that individual with the attorney licensing authority in the state where representation would occur. A firm name alone cannot establish an individual lawyer’s license or discipline history.

    Fields to capture

    • Attorney name and jurisdiction
    • Licensing record checked and date
    • Who handles day-to-day work and major decisions
  3. 03

Test fit during the first conversation

Describe your incident briefly and ask whether the firm currently handles this type of matter in your location. Ask what documents it needs and how it would communicate with you. Record answers in the firm’s own words.

    Fields to capture

    • Current scope of practice confirmed
    • Main contact and update process
    • Immediate documents or deadlines the firm identifies
  4. 04

    Compare the written terms

Before signing, request the proposed representation agreement. Ask how attorney fees, case expenses, and any obligations such as medical liens would affect a hypothetical recovery. Terms vary; the written agreement is the source for the arrangement offered to you.

    Fields to capture

    • Fee method and when it applies
    • Which expenses you may owe and when
    • How ending representation is handled

Our mission and philosophy

A clearer path to accurate injury-law information.

Our mission is to make public information about personal injury law firms easier to find, understand, and verify. We organize factual directory records, practical legal education, and links to official sources so people can begin their research with greater clarity.

Our philosophy is accuracy before promotion, clarity before complexity, and corrections whenever reliable evidence shows that a listing has changed. Directory inclusion is informational and is never presented as a legal recommendation.
